It feels like everyone has a dream of what they want to do in their head. A job they want, a place to be, or a sight to see. I just want to make cool things, and if other people think they’re cool too, then all the better.

I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember, which at this point seems pretty ubiquitous. I grew up on classics like Age of Empires 2, Guild Wars, and a lot of Pokémon (anyone remember Sapphire?) As I grew older I started picking up MOBA games like DOTA 2 and grand strategy games such as Civilization or Europa Universalis. Games that dared me to spend more hours than anyone should learning their mechanics and pushed me to see how good I could become. This rooted a deep admiration for games in me and with that adoration came fascination. Games are the reason I began to learn how to code in high school, which pushed me to study computer science when I went to college.

Somewhere along the way I got too busy to make games, life got in the way. When I graduated I realized I hadn’t learned how to make games, just how they tick (ba dum tss). I got a job as a software engineer, and spent my evenings, weekends, and downtime learning what I could and just making things. Most of what you see here on this site are the bits and pieces I felt were worth showing, as kind of a gallery of my progress as a game developer.

In recent years I’ve had the good fortune to work in some incredible places. Virtual Heroes was my first position where I got to work with Unreal Engine professionally, and it was the perfect place to pick up a ton of technical knowledge. After some time polishing my skills there I was able to land a job at Funcom where I had so much fun working on Conan Exiles and Dune: Awakening. It’s been a good run and I’ve had some amazing coworkers at Funcom, but now I’m looking for my next place!

But hey that’s just me as a developer: an Unreal Engine generalist with plenty of ideas that are admittedly bigger than I can handle. Outside of games my life is constantly busy. I’ve gotten to visit Japan, Iceland, Switzerland, and Italy with my wife Emma and recently we welcomed home our newborn son Benji (he’s the cutest!). Our four cats Yoda, Calvin, Tobi, and Maya are taking the new addition to the family well. I play Dungeons and Dragons as much as I’m able with my friends (scheduling issues be damned!) and I love getting sucked into good books.

Down below are a few cool pictures of my cats for you feline friends out there, and for anyone else who wants to be in touch there’s a contact form below or my email at the bottom of the page.

And hey if you read this far, you’re pretty cool in my book.
